Feng Chia Team Wins 5th CubeSat Mission Design Contest Championship!

The 5th CubeSat Mission Design Contest, held on October 30th at the Nan Gang Exhibition Center in Taipei. A team mentored by Professors Ming Chung Lo(羅明忠) from the Department of Aerospace and Systems Engineering and Jhen Syuan Huang(黃振軒)from the Department of Mechanical and Computer-Aided Engineering at our university. The team members included Szu Han Yang(楊斯涵), Chu Hsuan Chen(陳朮漩), Jun Xiao Lin(林俊孝), Wei Zuo Lin(林威佐), Feng Yao Chen(陳豐堯) and Ting Chun Hsu(許珽鈞). This victory also secures them a recommendation and subsidy from TASA to participate in the 9th Mission Idea Contest organized by Japan University Space Engineering Consortium (UNISEC) in 2024.

The CubeSat Mission Design Contest is an international competition for students to design innovative and noteworthy space projects/missions utilizing CubeSats. The Feng Chia team, presenting their project titled "Communication and Data Processing in Deep Space Exploration by CubeSat with Machine Learning Optimization." Their integration of communication and data processing into space exploration, combined with machine learning optimization, not only demonstrated innovation and foresight but also garnered attention and acclaim from both the audience and the jury due to their fluent English skills.

The outstanding performance highlights Feng Chia University's position in the fields of engineering science and technology, showcasing the dedication of the mentors to the students' education and guidance. Not only have the students brought honor to the university, but they have also made contributions to space research in Taiwan. This exceptional team will continue to showcase their professionalism and creativity.
